About the event
Ian Shevack is a Berlin-based artist, renowned for his singular practice combining spontaneity, material and visual introspection. For many years, he has been developing a personal approach to Klecksography - a technique inspired by ink stains - which he adapts on a large scale on raw, unstretched canvas.
Working directly on the ground, Ian uses Japanese ink, which he pours, folds and stretches, creating abstract forms and vibrant fields of color. This process frees the work from any imposed narrative, inviting viewers to project their own perceptions and emotions.
Over the past few months, I've gotten to know Ian through meetings, studio visits... each time I've been pleasantly surprised by his new work, by his exploration of new techniques, by the explosions of color and words scrawled on the canvas in a frenzy for fear of forgetting...
An inspiring discovery.
So it's with great pleasure that I invite you to discover Ian, his studio and his latest works during a unique visit to his studio in Berlin Zehlendorf, this Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 2 to 5 pm.
